An information session on leadership, personality and skills development for community groups was organized in Ja-ela by the Gampaha District Human Rights First Aid Centre (HRFAC) under NPC’s project Accountability Through Community Engagement and Initiatives for Transition (ACE-IT), funded by the European Union.

A total of 65 participants, including 50 differently-abled people, attended the programme, which was held with the support of Public Health Inspectors and the police.

Participants were made aware of how to obtain relief the government has provided to offset the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic and the available mechanisms to protect human rights.

The event was conducted according to the rules and regulations given by the government to avoid the spread of the virus.
