NPC supplied dry rations, spray machines, wash basins and PPE as part of a relief programme funded by Misereor to aid people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in partnership with District Inter Religious Committees (DIRCs) established by the Plural Action for Conflict Transformation project.

Dry ration packs were provided to families in Jaffna, Badulla and Vavuniya. Jaffna DIRC distributed dry rations to 70 families who do not receive government relief and are unable to earn incomes because of the Covid-19 pandemic and the travel restrictions. The programme was conducted in cooperation with the Jaffna District Secretariat and Mr. S. Senthuraja, Executive Director of Social Organizations Networking for Development.

Badulla DIRC distributed dry rations to 140 families in Haldumulla, Haputale, Diyatalawa, Ella and Bandarawela. The families were selected by DIRC members and relevant government officials. Among those who received the packs were kidney patients, cancer patients and children with special needs.

Vavuniya DIRC distributed dry rations to 35 families including differently abled persons. The programme was conducted in cooperation with government officials.
